The Franklin Park Public Library District, 10311 Grand Ave., has expanded its services with audiobooks and eBooks, available to download from the library’s website. Franklin Park Public Library cardholders can check out and download digital media anytime, anywhere by visiting www.franklinparklibrary.org and clicking on “Download audiobooks and eBooks.”
Users may browse the library’s website, check out with a valid library card, and download to PC, Mac and many mobile devices. Users will need to install free software. For audiobooks, music and video: OverDrive Media Console. To read eBooks, users will need Adobe Digital Editions. Titles can be enjoyed immediately or transferred to a variety of devices, including iPod, Sony Reader and many others. Some audio titles can also be burned to CD to listen on-the-go. Titles will automatically expire at the end of the lending

White Pines Golf Dome, 500 W. Jefferson St., in Bensenville and West Suburban Special Recreation Association are teaming up Saturday, Feb. 5 to raise funds for people with disabilities served in WSSRA recreation programs.
Tickets for the 7 to 10 p.m. event are $35 each or $40 at the door.
One hundred tickets will be sold. Guests will have an opportunity to play some virtual golf, hit unlimited balls at an indoor driving range, receive tips from the golf pro, test drive new clubs and enjoy beer, wine and other refreshments. This unique golf event includes putting and driving contests for those interested in a little competition and a raffle.
Call WSSRA at (847) 455-2100 to reserve a ticket with a Visa or Mastercard payment. Money raised will support therapeutic recreation programs for children and adults with disabilities who are residents of Berwyn, Cicero, Oak Park, Forest Park, River Forest, Elmwood Park, Harwood Heights, Norridge and the Park District of Franklin Park. Hawthorne Park District in Cicero is a sponsor of this event.

In recognition of American Heart Month in February, a professional from Interim Healthcare will present a program titled, “Heart Healthy,” at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8, at the Oak Park Arms, 408 S. Oak Park Ave.

According to the American Heart Association, February is National Heart Health Month, designed to promote awareness to Americans that heart disease is the number one killer of men and women in the U.S.
