Broomfield Health and Human Services is accepting grant applications from nonprofit agencies that provide health and/or human services to Broomfield residents. Guard Start — Bronze

Open to ages 9 to 14. Introduction to basic life guarding skills and skills needed for teaching swim lessons. Learn entries, rescues, emergency procedures, and what it takes to become a lifeguard. Participants who pass the class and volunteer for at least 10 hours, receive a T-shirt and a one-month pass to the Paul Derda Recreation Center and Broomfield Community Center. Pre-requisites: Level IV swim class or pass a swim test. Those who successfully complete class will be eligible to register for the Silver class beginning in February.
